RESIDENT SERVICES

|
|
Meals:
All meals are included in the monthly rate. Menus are developed with a registered dietician to assure nutritional balance. Salt, sugar and fats are restricted in preparation. Individuals are free to season foods to taste at the table. Food is served family style.
Residents are expected to go to the Dining room for meals. Temporary room servie is provided to persons returning from a hospital stay or experiencing a short term illness.

Housekeeping:
Each resident will be responsible for maintaining order in their personal area. The level of assistance needed will be determined through individual assessment of the resident's capabilities by the Facility Manager.

|
|
Laundry:
Laundry rooms are located within the facilities. Residents are encouraged to do their own laundry, with assistance if needed, or staff may do laundry if required.
|
|
|
|
Supervision of Self Administered Medications:
Staff are not licensed to administer medication, however, they are trained to supervise and record self-administration of medication by the resident. Health Care providers appreciate this service because it assure compliance with their orders. Medications are received by staff in individual containers. Residents access medications at a designated area at times ordered by their physician.

|
Personal Care:
Staff provide assistance with bathing, shampooing and dressing. The degree of assistance is based on individual need and level of care outlined in state guidelines for Activities of Daily Living.

|
|
Security:
Day visitors are required to sign in and out. A floor attendant is on duty at all times. Exterior doors are locked at 9:00 PM and visitors arriving later must buzz in. Residents may request bed checks which are provided hourly.
Frequent checks are made to assure the safety and care of the residents.

|
Assistance with Security Health Care/Transportation:
The facilities are located in close proximity to hospitals and several physician office complexes. Staff will assist residents in obtaining appointments as the need arises. Staff will also assist with securing necessary transportation. Escorts may be provided requiring assistance.
In the event of an emergency, the county's '911' emergency services will be called.

Activities:
Social interaction amongst residents is encouraged. Planned activities included Bingo, crafts, Bible study, exercise, movies, cards, and board games. Many activities are sponsored by local churches, organizations, groups, or individual volunteers to enhance the quality of life for residents. Special events are planned throughout the year by a community care for its elders.
