Position:                                               Janitor

 

Location:                                              Crestview Manor

 

Immediate Supervisor:                      Facility Director

 

 

 

Major Responsibility:

Perform assigned duties to ensure the facility is clean, sanitary, safe and welcoming. Major repairs or maintenance needs are to be reported to the Facility Director and Administrator.

 

Duties:

  1. Monitoring for fall hazards and taking immediate corrective action.

  2. Primary focus will be common areas, kitchen and exterior grounds.

  3. Assist in the placement of furniture as directed.

  4. Remain on guard for fire hazards, including violation of house rules (i.e.: smoking, appliance clutter).

  5. Assist kitchen staff by inspecting and properly cleaning all metal surfaces including:

  1. Ranges

  2. Range hood

  3. Oven

  4. Dishwasher

  5. Sinks

  6. Racks

  7. Other equipment as directed

  1. Other duties as needed to maintain safe passageways and a clean environment for residents.

  2. Other duties as required by maintenance or house staff.

 

Conditions of Employment:

Must be physically able to climb, lift up to 25 pounds, and bend as needed to accomplish tasks. Must maintain a current Florida Driver License with a clean driving record. Must be able to work with chemicals and detergents associated with performance to tasks. Must possess knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

 

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalency. Working knowledge of general tasks as outlined in job duties. Must be able to read labels and follow written and/or oral instructions needed to complete tasks. Must possess good listening and communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other staff. Work schedule will be determined by the facility’s need, flexibility is required.

Personal Appearance:

Will be expected to report to work in clean, neat attire and wearing safety shoes. Must use safety equipment as required.

 

Special Requirements:

This position requires a person who is organized and able to work with little or no supervision. The employee is required to have high standards of cleanliness and order. Must be capable of managing time effectively and efficiently to assure assigned tasks are completed in a manner that assures quality work. Must pass a successful Level II Background Screening with no disqualifying events, as outlined by AHCA standards.

 

Wage Scale:

 

Starting wage is $9.00/hour with a possible increase after 90 days if work standards are met and budgets allow. Increases will be determined by merit, length of service and budgetary constraints.
