Meals on Wheels
of
Okaloosa County
Locally Funded, Locally Prepared
We rely on donations and support from the community. It is critically needed for continued services.
Established in 1971 by a group if concerned citizen volunteers, we provide nutritionally balanced meals that meet RDA recommendations for a modest cost to the elderly, handicapped, or recuperating individuals in our community who were unable to do so themselves as a result of frailties associated with aging. Originally funded by the United Way donations from Destin Harvest, Publix, and many community service programs help keep our program running.
Meals are prepared Monday - Friday and delivered by caring, compassionate volunteers. There are no income eligibility requirements for our services but participants are encouraged to donate when able to expand services to others in need. Reservations for meals require a 24 hour advance notice. Our service provides one meal per day. This meal contributes to good health, increased cognitive abilities, improved quality of life, independence and dignity.
Limited delivery areas - no meal service in Destin, west of Hurlburt AFB, and only available in certain areas of Crestview. The rest of Okaloosa County is deliverable.
Recommended donation rate is $5.50 per meal.
Minimum Delivery time before Cancellation is 2 weeks.

40 Years of Service
Congratulation's to Jennifer

We are excited to celebrate Jennifers outstanding 40-years of community service to the Meals on Wheels delivery program. We appreciate dedicated volunteers like Jennifer who use their own vehicles to deliver daily nutritious meals to homebound, disabled and elderly residents in Okaloosa County. Jennifer started delivering meals 40 years ago and she is still just as committed to the mission of bringing good nutrition to our elderly friends as she was on the first day that she started. 1
