Mrs. S is over 90 years old and still living independently. However, she loves and relies on Meals on Wheels. "My children are all gone," she says. "I don't have anyone left."
Each weekday, Mrs. S meets her Meals on Wheels drivers at the door and spends time visiting.

"Everyone loves Mrs. S," says the Meals on Wheels Coordinator. "Each weekday driver says they will quit volunteering if we ever move them off of the route with Mrs. S."
Volunteers do well more than they are required, spending time with her on holidays and even taking her shopping.
"I love how caring she is," says volunteer, Mr. B. "She is still spunky," says Mr. B, "And will tell you like it is."
On holidays, her Meals on Wheels volunteers have brought her gifts. This year, for Valentine's Day, volunteer Michael S, brought her a gold-dipped rose in a glass dome with sparkle lights. "I love Mrs. S," says Michael S. "She is one of the clients everyone loves who keeps us volunteering."
Mrs. S is a perfect example of the clients who receive Meals on Wheels. Many have no one else, and it is their Meals on Wheels volunteers who make their lives and holidays bright.
