Nutrition Following Hospitalization
Elder Services of Okaloosa County provides a hot, nutritious option for vulnerable adults during recuperative periods following hospitalization. For 45 years, our focus has been assisting those who are at-risk to live independent lives with dignity and a sense of security. We've been able to accomplish this mission with the support of the Emerald Coast United Way and Chelco, who provide funding for the raw food purchases used in preparing our meals.
A Client Success Story: Mr. Corbin's Recovery
A perfect example of our Meals on Wheels Okaloosa County service is Mr. Corbin, who reached out to our program after a recent hospital stay. He was feeling weak and uncertain about his recovery. After two months, he says he feels much more positive about his future.
"These meals have really helped me. I feel so much stronger now. The food is delicious and very nutritious. Meals on Wheels gives me the energy I need each day," he says.
More Than a Meal
Mr. Corbin also looks forward to the friendly visits from the volunteers who deliver his meals.
"They are always so kind, friendly, and helpful. They check on me, bring a smile, and truly care. It means a lot," he says.

There are so many in our community who are struggling and experiencing food insecurity. If you know someone who may need assistance, contact our offices and we will do the rest. We will not rest while there are frail elderly and/or handicapped individuals who could benefit from our assistance.
