Randy and Kathy L. began receiving Meals on Wheels last month.  Kathy is no longer able to cook due to physical restrictions, and her husband jokingly share that his wife would not eat his cooking even if he tried.  They are extremely grateful for the MOW program and enjoy the variety of meals on the menu.  Randy laughed as he shares that Kathy will sometimes try to steal his dessert – and he always lets her!

Randy and Kathy are just one example of the goodness provided by this locally funded program.  These are your dollars at work caring for our vulnerable adults!

Community Care for the Elderly

Elder Services of Okaloosa County is the designated Lead Agency for the Community Care for the Elderly (CCE) Program in Okaloosa County. The CCE program was created by the Florida Legislature to assist functionally impaired elderly persons to live dignified and reasonably independent lives in their own homes, or in the homes of relatives or caregivers.

Elder Services also contracts for the Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) which assists with in-home services to help clients remain in the preferred setting of their home. The CCE program compliments the Older Americans Act to ensure the most supportive array of services.
